Why I Chose Rutgers
As a native New Englander born and raised in Rhode Island, I appreciate making the decision to leave home and attend college out-of-state. I was excited to live in a part of the country with incredible diversity and access to a more urban life. Rutgers–New Brunswick provided me with a diversity of thought and culture that prepared me for real world experiences.

“That was a memorable day to me, for it made great changes in me. But it is the same with any life. Imagine one selected day struck out of it, and think how different its course would have been. Pause you who read this, and think for a moment of the long chain of iron or gold, of thorns or flowers, that would never have bound you, but for the formation of the first link on one memorable day.” –Charles Dickens

Favorite Book
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Favorite Memory from Time as a Rutgers Student
I will never forget the thrill of entering the Rutgers Kirkpatrick Chapel for the very first time during New Student Convocation. The chapel was candlelit and I remember looking around at all of the portraits of past presidents hanging on the bright scarlet walls as I walked down the aisle. I felt so excited to become a part of a university with a long rich history and traditions!
