Guided Campus Tours and Information Sessions

Due to capacity restrictions, we ask that students and their families choose just one tour to register for. To supplement your general campus tour experience, we recommend checking out some of the school and academic program specific options available - see below.

Please note the following:

  • Masks must be worn if entering any Rutgers Campus building, including the Visitor Center, and on the bus (regardless of vaccination status), so please come prepared.
  • All tour guests MUST be registered before arrival to campus. Due to limits on capacity, we can only accommodate groups of up to:
    • 3 guests (including the prospective student) for the Walking Tours and Information Session & Student Panel
    • 2 guests (including the prospective student) for the Bus Tours
  • Please begin the registration process with the information of the student. Then, if a guest is going to be accompanying the student on the tour, please use the "Add Guest" button at the bottom of the page to add their information before you submit the registration.
  • If there is more than one prospective student in your group, you must create a separate registration for each prospective student.

Walking Tours

We are currently providing guided walking tours of three of our five campuses here at Rutgers–New Brunswick: College Avenue, Busch, and Livingston. Students at Rutgers–New Brunswick will have academic and extracurricular opportunities across all five of our campuses! In order to accommodate the large volume of visitors that we receive as well as the diversity of academic interests of our visitors, all of these guided campus tours are introductory tours designed to provide a general overview of the Rutgers student experience. Regardless of the campus location that is being toured – the program covers housing, dining, student involvement as well as the general academic experience.

  • Check-in for your tour will take place at the Rutgers Visitor Center and upon check in you will be given instructions and driving directions to the parking and start for the walking tour.
  • Each tour lasts roughly 90 minutes and is guided by Scarlet Ambassadors, who are current students at Rutgers–New Brunswick.
  • Guests should be prepared to walk on various types of terrain and in various weather conditions for the duration of the tour. Please be sure to wear appropriate footwear and bring umbrellas or other appropriate items if the weather warrants. While we will conduct tours in light rain conditions, we WILL cancel tours if a severe weather condition presents itself.
  • Please be sure to be on time for your tour - if you are more than 30 minutes late for your arrival time, we may not be able to accommodate you on a walking tour of campus.
